A Celebration of the Spanish Guitar: Barbican Hall, 20 February 2008

(Passed on by Ray Butcher)

Please contact Don Kellar for further details. Address is at the end of this message.

I am contacting you about A Celebration of the Spanish Guitar, a concert at the Barbican next February. The concert includes works by Rodrigo, Torroba and Bacarisse, as well as two Spanish-themed pieces - Rossini's Barber of Seville overture and excerpts from Bizet's Carmen. Guitar soloist Rolando Saad was born in Argentina, is now based in Spain, and has had a distinguished concert career, giving many acclaimed performances of the Rodrigo Concierto de Aranjuez (which is included in this programme) across Europe and South America. At the Barbican, he plays with the St Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra and the eminent Bolshoi conductor Fuat Mansurov.

Is it possible to send details of the concert to members of the Federation of Guitar Societies, preferably in the form of printed A5 leaflets or alternatively as an e-mail? I'm attaching a copy of the leaflet front for your information and would be grateful if you'd let me know whether you'd be able to help publicise the event; I'll hope to hear from you shortly.

Many thanks.
Best wishes
