Cornelius has arranged for the ensemble to play some pieces during a concert given by the Shirley Singers at Selsdon Methodist Church. So tonight our numbers were swelled by some guests who will join us on Saturday 3 rd December for a rehearsal in the afternoon followed by our two slots during the concert which starts at 7.30.
The ensemble was conducted tonight by Cornelius in pieces chosen for the concert -:

Waltz No.2 Shostakovich
The Carol of the Drum arranged by Tim Pells
Sheebeg and Sheemore and Hewlett from the Connemara Suite
Schindler’s List John Williams
Walking in the Air from The Snowman by Howard Blake
During a break, while players enjoyed the refreshments kindly provided by David, there was even more chatter than usual because of the increased number of people.
The evening finished with a solo from Cornelius and a duet from Cornelius and Tom.
The Society meets on the third Saturday of each month
