BGS Meeting 16th Feb 2019

Trevor took up the baton for the first time for the ensemble. We played Vocalise by S Rachmaninoff. Trevor’s task was complicated by virtue of rhythm changes from 4/4 to 2/4 and back again, by not everybody’s music being marked with bar numbers, and by a page being out of order and one even upside-down!! Nevertheless, he and we strove on valiantly and reached the end.

Of course, refreshments were welcomed. Thanks again to Trevor.

Solos were played by

Victoria Arroyos de la Alhambra (Angel Barrios)
Marion Celtic Blue (Tim Pells)
Suo Gan (A Welsh song arranged by Stephen Goss)
David Milonga for Three (Piazzola)

The evening finished with Jeremiah Clarke’s Baroque Airs and Dances: Five short pieces, simpler to sight-read, and conducted this time by David.

Please visit the Current Ensemble Repertoire page to see the pieces we are currently working on.
