BGS Meeting March 19th 2022

Why not pop in and meet our friendly group of classical guitarists. Players of all standards are invited. We study ensemble pieces and there is opportunity to play a solo if you wish.

Tonight, in Classical Gas by Mason Williams, the ensemble worked on tricky rhythms, frequent time changes, together with a key change in Section E. This was followed by more work on Schindler’s List by John Williams.

After the break for refreshments and chatter, we sat back to enjoy solos played by –

Marion Andante in D (D Aguado)
 Waltz Study (F Sor)
Tom Saltarello (Anon)
 Two Branles (G Morlaye)
Mark Impromptu (P Nuttall)
 Gnossienne I (Eric Satie)
Cornelius Prelude and Allemande, Suite in Emin (Bach)

Ensemble playing finished with trying out different sections of Duelling Banjos by Arthur White, before it was time to pack up and head for home.

Our next session is on Saturday 16th April, which is during Easter weekend. See you then.
