Just a short note about two concerts coming up this month.

Maelasta - Sunday (23rd Jan) - Kirkmahoe Parish Church, Kirkton - 2:30pm.

The recital will include works by Moilno, Gragnani, Ysaÿe, Stevenson, Brouwer & Paganini.

'Maelasta - Feargus Heatherington (violin) and Matthew McAllister (guitar) have appeared in major concert halls and venues across the UK including the Sage, Gateshead, Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, Harty Rooms in Belfast and the National Galleries in Edinburgh. They have performed and given workshops as far afield as Denmark and Abu Dhabi and recorded a debut album Maelasta for Natural Studio Records. The duo performs a wide range of music from classical works to traditional Scottish music.'

The village of Kirkton is situated very close to Dumfries in the Scottish Borders.


Agnew / McAllister Duo - Forfar Arts Guild - Thursday (27th Jan) - 7:30pm.

Repertoire will include works by Locatelli, Handel, Bach, Caffrey, Wella & Brouwer.'Flautist Aisling Agnew & Guitarist Matthew McAllister are celebrating Ten Years of concert giving during 2011. Since giving their debut recital in Belfast in 2001 the duo have built a worldwide reputation as one of the finest and most popular exponents of the genre.'

Forfar Arts Guild Concerts take place in East and Old Church Hall, Chapel Street, Forfar.
