Twelve of us attended the traditionally fun and relaxed Christmas meeting. There was a festive feel with some members in Xmas jumpers and hats.
Before the break we managed a bit of serious ensemble practice with some work on our two latest pieces, Romance without Words and Tango Estampie.
Thanks to the various members who brought in cakes and savoury food which we all enjoyed at the break, washed down with some real coffee, thanks to Larisa. During the break it was great to see Den pop in for a chat with us all, his first visit since relinquishing his long-standing post as chairman of the BGS. Hopefully he'll 'pop-in' again before too long.
A more festive feel dominated the rest of the evening's proceedings as we played The Coventry Carol, the Carol of the Bells, The Snowman and Snowflakes.
The guitar society has been invited to present an evening performance to diners at The Langley Park Golf Course on Thursday 21st April 2016. Larisa will be sending out an email in due course. We have about 40 minutes to entertain the guests with ensemble, duet and solo pieces.
