BGS Meeting 5th Jan 2019

This, our first meeting since Christmas, got the new year off to a good start. In the absence of John, who is taking a well-deserved break from conducting the ensemble, Kate took up the baton. She led twelve of us gently through four short pieces from the Baroque Airs and Dances by Jeremiah Clarke. Two different time  signatures and three different keys!

After interval refreshments, provided by Trevor, David, the Society’s Treasurer, chaired an EGM [Extraordinary General Meeting]. This was to discuss and approve the move of the Society’s account to a different bank and to give David authorisation. The EGM raised interesting and useful points for David and the Committee to address.

We enjoyed these solos:

Tom Andante Cantabilo (Francesco Molino)
Eduardo Capricho Arabe (Tarrega)
 Danza Paraguaya (Agustin Barrios)
