BGS Meeting 16th March 2019

Terrible wet and windy weather may have kept some members away tonight. Nine of us met but found we were without a conductor. David stepped in and counted us in strongly and steadily to work through Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by J S Bach and Quebra Cabecas by Ernesto Nazareth. Each  section of the music was practised before putting the whole together.

Refreshments were welcomed in the break. Thanks again to Trevor.

Announcements
  • John has entered the ensemble for the Reigate and Redhill Music Festival on Sat. 18th May. He plans that we play the two pieces worked on tonight.
  • Kate is organising our attendance at the Federation Day which is on Sunday 30th June, at Milton Keynes.
This evening's solo performances were as follows:

David Los Suenos (Piazzola)
Antonio Prelude BVW 999 (Bach)

We finished with Vocalise by S Rachmaninoff, taking each section separately to familiarise ourselves with the geography and changes of time signature..
