BGS Meeting 6th April 2019

John worked us through Quebra Cabecas by Ernesto Nazareth and Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by J S Bach - the two pieces the ensemble are working on to play at the Reigate and Redhill Music Festival  on Sat. 18 th May. He then gave us some sight-reading – a selection of pieces by Johan Helmick
Roman which included Sinfonia and Andante.

After the tea break in which Trevor kindly provided the refreshments, we sat back
and enjoyed four solos, as follows

Marion	Gaelic Song I (Peter Nuttall)
Tom	Never Weather-beaten Sail (Thomas Campion arr. Richard Wright)
Victoria	Strings of the Alhambra (Angel Barrios)
John	Cancion (Frederick Mompou)

We finished off the evening by playing the Sinfonia.
