BGS Meeting February 15th 2020

Numbers could well have been down tonight as storm Dennis raged, but members braved the elements and the evening was well worth the effort of travelling.

Our first piece was Rest Awhile, very easy, in three parts. David gave it as an exercise for all, but especially those members not used to playing in ensemble. He followed this with Hurdy Gurdy, a simple but fun piece with five sections which could be played in any combinations and as a round.

We moved on to pieces played and enjoyed previously – Bai Mudan [White Peony], The Greenwood Tree, Smooth Blues, Lagrima and Walking in the Air.

Tonight's solos were:

Victoria Tango (G Mirto)
Ivan and Marion Green Holm Jig (trad)
Marion Allegretto Gracioso (F Carulli)
David Hornpipe
The Lark in the Clear Air (trad arr. John Loesberg)
Tom Sarabande (Jacques Saint-Luc)
Michael Spanish Romance (trad)

See you all on March 7th
